Christine Hellberg, LMT, Owner
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Christine first entered the wellness field by becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher. Her love of movement and breath that yoga cultivated led her to continue exploring the body through massage. In 2010 Christine graduated from the Lancaster School of Massage. While working one-to-one with clients through massage and bodywork, Christine really found her passion and purpose. Christine has not only witnessed her client’s transformation through bodywork; she experienced firsthand the power of massage and bodywork to relieve chronic pain and significantly improve quality of life.
Christine is constantly researching and learning more about continuing education in order to provide the best and most comprehensive care to her clients. Everyone is an individual and therefore requires individual and specialized care. For this reason, clients leave with much more than an hour of relaxation. Christine strives to educate and empower people to live life with more vitality by giving clients tools to take with them and make their sessions last longer.
Christine holds advanced certification in the Trager Approach, Amino Neurofrequency Therapy, and Movement Coaching. These give our clients more options and a unique and individual approach to their health and healing.
When Christine’s not working with clients, you can find her teaching at the Lancaster School of Massage, hiking with her husband and dogs, exploring different ways of moving her body, reading, and enjoying time with friends and family.
Jen Bierbower, LMT
Jen is a Licensed Massage Therapist with over 20 years of experience, graduating from the Lancaster School of Massage in 1998. Throughout the years, she has worked in a range of therapeutic environments, including private practice, education, medical offices, and resort spas. Her specialties include Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release and Oncology Massage.
Oncology massage therapy has become a passion for Jen. Experiencing a loved one's journey through cancer care as well as past clients has helped her realize how important massage therapy throughout cancer care can be. Jen has completed advanced training in massage therapy for cancer care.
Early on, Jen found her passion in massage therapy education as well as hands-on work. She enjoys the classroom dynamics in massage therapy as well as the mentoring of future massage therapists. She teaches neuromuscular therapy, assessment, range of motion, and integration at Lancaster School of Massage. In her clinical work, Jen enjoys working one-on-one with clients to help ease pain and discomfort, feel better (both physically and mentally), and help bring awareness to their body as a whole.
Before Jen pursued a career in therapeutic massage, she graduated from Gettysburg College with a BA in Psychology. Jen spent from a young age through college as an athlete, specifically swimming. This active background is what led her to learn and understand more about the body. This curiosity gives her a unique perspective in understanding the body, as does her training as a Peak Pilates Instructor as well as her education in a 200 hr certification in yoga instructor training from Om My Yoga in Camp Hill, PA.
When Jen is out of the office you will find her exploring the outdoors. She enjoys biking, hiking, kayaking, and any activities that includes her chocolate lab, Lola. If it’s a rainy day, you can find her at the movies or curled up with a good book (and Lola, of course!)
Emily Johns, LMT
As an educator for more than 20 years, Emily has been passionate about creating a sense of belonging for her students, for empowering people and helping them grow their confidence and find balance and well-being. Keenly aware of how our identities and self-confidence are so entwined with our bodies, Emily works to promote a welcoming and peaceful space where clients can unwind and feel heard so they may relax.
When Emily was a teenager, she survived a tragic car accident. She has seen firsthand the results that massage can bring. While massage therapy was crucial to her healing journey it has since become an essential part of her wellness plan, incorporating it into her physical therapy for injury, muscle recovery as a college athlete and coach, and becoming her go-to for restoring her spirit, and returning her “home” to her body. As a result of these experiences, she became fascinated with and began practicing various healing modalities such as Reiki, mindfulness, meditation, and yoga which ultimately led her to a career change as a massage therapist.
Emily graduated from the Lancaster School of Massage, gaining a foundation in Swedish Massage, NMT, MFR, and CT. Mindful of how we embody our moods and feelings, life stressors and tension, Emily listens to her clients and integrates various massage modalities to meet them where they are. When she is not seeing clients at Bright Mountain Bodywork, she is supervising the student clinic and assisting with marketing and communication for Lancaster School of Massage. She enjoys walking her dog, gardening, supporting the arts, and running her business, Gates & Paths, in-person and virtual gatherings for joyful well-being.
